I just realized, that was some piece of motivational basketball work Stan Van Gundy pulled out of his coaching repertoire in game 1 of the series. "You're standing around like witnesses!" Man. That would get me going, Lebron James' greatness notwithstanding.
The Orlando Magic came out in the second half with a renewed focus and intensity. Lebron James was Lebron James (read: amazing), but the Orlando Magic would have none of it. They didn't want to be witnesses anymore. And it showed. Rafer Alston started taking and making shots. Courtney Lee would have none of Lebron's poster-making blocks. Dwight Howard was physical AND focused, which is a very dangerous thing for the opposing team.
And so, I applaud you, Stan Van Gundy. That was the best piece of coaching I've seen in a very very long time from you. Good job.
