NBA Playoffs - Los Angeles Lakers will crush the Houston Rockets

This isn't a prediction. See, Doc Emmet Brown, knowing my fondness for basketball, went to the future and checked out the results for me. Los Angeles Lakers in 5 games, and future Kobe says "Hi." Also, Yao Ming played great for the Houston Rockets.

Of course, you don't really need a time machine to figure this one out. Ron Artest is an amazing defender, but he's not going to be able to stop Kobe Bryant. The Houston Rockets are an amazing defensive team, but they're not going to stop Kobe Bryant.

Well, they might, actually. It really depends how good Kobe is on a particular day. Sometimes, he can take it a little personal, and leave his teammates out of the game. Kobe is best when he's got other threats on his team, so defenders can't afford to just be guarding him. He's got to get them involved. If he does that, it's 4 easy wins for the Lakers.

Artest will probably put up his numbers, just because the guy is so bullishly strong. Somewhere around 16 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, something like that. Yao Ming will totally destroy Andrew Bynum. The size differential is just too big, and with the way Yao shoots that basketball? That's bad news for the Lakers.

Luis Scola and Pau Gasol will probably cancel each other out. Gasol is more talented, but both are extremely smart basketball players and Scola will most likely outhustle the Spaniard. The key to this game for the Lakers? Stopping Aaron Brooks and getting Lamar Odom going.

Lamar Odom's pretty much unguardable for the Rockets. He's too big for the guards, and too fast for the post-players. Let's see how he performs for Los Angeles.
